I need some help convincing my parents to get me texting.. advice...?

So as you know texting is hugely popular. Everyone has it. But me of course. I don't have any really good reasons why i should get texting. I cant convince my parents at all to get it for me. I cant really afford it.. haha I'm broke. =) so if any body has any GOOD reasons to convince my parents to get me unlimited texting i would love to hear them.

I'd probably go with the ';all the cool kids have it'; tact... but seriously, even unlimited texting add-on plans are only about $20/month. Maybe you can do some chores to earn the $20 and pay your parents back for the service. That will show them that you are being responsible.
