I have replaced the engine in my 93 rangerover auto and cant get drive would appreciate any advice thanks, mike

Sounds like primary hydraulic pump is out of mesh .Did you leave the torque converter coupled to the gearbox when you split the engine and box ?.If not you will have to pull the donkey back out and make sure the pump drive is in mesh. What type of engine has it got ?I have replaced the engine in my 93 rangerover auto and cant get drive would appreciate any advice thanks, mike
Was the engine out of a manual? If so, the drive pinion to the gearbox may be differentI have replaced the engine in my 93 rangerover auto and cant get drive would appreciate any advice thanks, mike
Just to add to what JG has said, if the engine did come from a manual donor, there is usually a spigot bearing in the centre of the crankshaft where the gearbox shaft goes. It must be removed for an auto box.
when you put box back on did you line up the torgue converter correctly, as the flat edges of converter fit into a slotted area of gearbox, it drives the pump, and sorry to say if fitted wrongly it could mess up box
dude, your clutch is either round the wrong way (Shout 'Do'H!' very loudly, or the clutch is not being worked. Is it cable, or fluid-control? Release arm working?
Insomnia needs to wake up.... It's AUTO!

Is there the right level of fluid in the transmission, Was it drained during the work?

Is the selector lever connected properly?

Does the engine output fitting match the transmission, are all the bolts %26amp;c fitted?
