me and my girlfriend have just gotten together a week ago. we both go to the same college, but the semester will end april 30th. summer is gonna last 4 months and i am gonna miss her terribly. i have never been in this situation before and dont know how to handle that long span of time. any advice, comments, anything will be helpful. the bad part is that im currently in that mindset where if it doesnt involve her, then i dont want to do it. like if i can't do something with her, then it isnt worth my time. how can i get out of this mindset? this is all new to meAdvice to get through the summer?
I'm sure your gf will feel the same way about you, you just got to find things to occupy your time. For example, go to the gym while she's gone for 4 months, work out get buff and strong, and when she comes back she's gonna see her new man in a whole new way !
Hang out with friends, volunteer in your community, spend time with family etc.
4 months is short, time flies when you're having fun !

I've been in the same situation...several summers in a row. We sucessfully made it through each one! :) You can get through it if you both want to. It just means you need to stay in contact ...talk alot, text alot, email, etc. You might want to schedule a visit halfway through if that's an option. As for the mindset....just follow your heart. Stay home if that's what you feel like doing! Eventually you'll get the urge to do something that doesn't involve her. Until then, just enjoy your feelings.
