I am in Lake county illinois and my stepson is 14.I took out an order of protection in jan...but it was dismissed! our lawyers say that it has to do with custody and visitation matter!

Everytime I call the police about him calling me they ask me if anyone else heard the treats!! or if he left them on email or text messeges...!!!i feel like the system has and is failing me!!!Where can I get free legal advice in illinois?I need help fast!?
DO NOT record the calls as Walker suggested. You will be committing a crime and the 'evidence' will be inadmissible in court.

720 Ill. Compiled Stat. Ann. 5/14-1, -2: An eavesdropping device cannot be used to record or overhear a conversation without the consent of all parties to the conversation under criminal statutes. An eavesdropping device is anything used to hear or record a conversation, whether the conversation is in person or conducted by any means other than face-to-face conversation, such as a telephone conversation.

I'm not sure about in your state, but I work for a lawyer in California and most of them will do a free consoltation. Just call around and ask.
Tape record the calls, and keep reporting it. Make a call to the abuse hotline, to try and get the state involved. You may try the state police, or a Private Investigator.

Try legal aid in you city
